It began with care packages
entry49 started with friends scattered all over Europe. We kept sending them parcels of German treats — the Haribo flavours, the chocolate bars, the little classics they couldn't find where they lived. Again and again we heard the same thing: “You can't get this here.”
So we turned those parcels into a shop. Bought directly from Germany, many brands are even cheaper — or the same price — and you get the special varieties that never reach foreign shelves. That insight is still our whole idea today.

Why we don't ship drinks (yet)
German law adds a 25-cent deposit (Pfand) to every bottle and can — money you could never get back abroad, because the empties would have to travel all the way back into the German system. Drinks also break far too easily in transit. We'd rather only ship what we can truly stand behind.
